Do you need to rent a car in Manuel Antonio? If so, good news and bad news. The good news is that you’ll be able to rent a car. The bad news is that the car might not be up to the standards you’re used to in the United States and it might be a slightly bigger hassle in some ways. We’ve collected a list of telephone numbers of the local Manuel Antonio car rental agencies:
| Adobe | 2777-4242 or 8838-2527 |
| Alamo | 2777-3344 |
| Economy | 2777-5353 or 2777-5260 |
| National | 2777-0368 or 2637-7191 |
| Payless | 2777-0115 |
| Thrifty | 2777-3334 |
We should point out that the locations for Economy and National are within walking distance of Pacifico Colonial. For both of them, you walk out of Pacifico Colonial, make a right and they will be on your left. Economy is located in the same small plaza as the Banca Promerica ATM (about a 3-5 minute walk) and then National is just beyond Cafe Milagro, which is about 2-3 minutes more down the road.
In addition, if you’re simply interested in getting around for the day or visiting a local landmark, you can also rent a scooter from Fast Eddie’s by calling 2777-4127 or 8888-8111. Unless you’re familiar with driving a scooter, we generally don’t recommend that you choose Costa Rica to learn.
