Manuel Antonio Views

This is a view of Damas Island from the cliffs in Manuel Antonio. While Quepos is not visible, it is off to the right in this picture.

View from the El Avion Restaurant. Formerly known as Ollie’s Follies, this famous restaurant has an airplane right in the middle of it. And, as you can see, this restaurant has a spectacular view.
Main Road in Manuel Antonio

It can be hard to drive your own car to the beach, especially during the high season. As you can see, parking along the side of the road backs up quite a bit. There is a not a good parking lot at the beach. We recommend either taking a cab or walking.

This is the end of the main road in Manuel Antonio at the southeastern point on Playa Espadilla. This is where you can enter the Manuel Antonio National Park.
National Park Entrance

In this picture, you can see people walking across the sand to the National Park entrance. Back behind the wooden posts you can see, there is a path that you can follow to the National Park gate. This is the access point for the Manuel Antonio National Park beaches.
Getting to Manuel Antonio
There are two ways to get to Manuel Antonio: drive or fly. Driving is, surprisingly, relatively easy. The whole drive from the San Jose airport only consists of a few turns - driving directions here. But the drive will take you three or more hours. Flying is only 15 minutes to Quepos, but you'll have to brave a small plane and you'll only be able to take limited luggage with you. From there, you can take a short cab ride to Manuel Antonio.
